Our new site is up!  Just click on over and check it out.  It is all about literature and art.  There isn’t much in the way of content right now, but Jason has posted a few beautiful poems.  A short story will be up later tonight and hopefully a dose of comics and art will appear before Monday.  Thanks to everyone who supported InitImp!  We hope you enjoy our new site even though it has nothing to do with tech.

We have been dead for quite some time, and I doubt Init Imp will ever make a glorious return. We are in talks about a new blog..  something different, but definitely fun! Keep your eyes peeled because it will happen when you least expect it.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything on the Vado HD, but I finally have one in my hands.  It was a birthday gift from my sweet girlfriend and I can’t thank her enough.  I unboxed it last night for some initial impressions, and I am feeling very optimistic about this device.  I have never owned any sort of camcorder so I am a novice, but I think I am going to have fun with it.

Normally I would pass over something like this without thinking twice, but today is your lucky day.  While a power bracelet that charges all your gadgets on the go seems like a very practical idea, it just doesn’t look socially acceptable.  I am not a fashion designer or even very trendy for that matter, but wearing this thing would probably be a great way to keep people from talking to you.  Why did I post it then?  Well, if everyone started to wear them it would make for a really nifty sci-fi setting.  I just don’t think we are there yet.  Gadgets are popular, but not everyone views them as essential yet.  Maybe in about 5-10 years everyone will be loaded down with battery accessories, sharing their power juice freely, and the world will be a better place.

moonlitcakes

This is the only video that will inspire you while simultaneously making you crave sweet treats.  If I weren’t in the middle of a class right now I would drive down to the nearest bakery and enjoy a pastry or two.  Then I would probably feel guilty knowing full well that cupcakes have dreams too!  Just watch the video.

ff-vii-ps3

Okay, so I am kind of a big nerd for Final Fantasy.  I may not play every single one of them, but I sure as Hello Kitty Jell-O get pumped when a new project comes out with that classic name slapped on it.  This is one I can’t help but get super-nerd giddy for.  Which also leads to totally regretting the purchase of my 80 gig PS3 a few weeks ago.

Check it out, after the break!

scrabble12

We always love when someone takes a classic idea and twists it into a gadget that is sure to bring back the nostalgia of your childhood.  These guys have done just that.  Who could resist this beautiful piece of art/totally functional USB keyboard.  I mean come on, it’s made of actual Scrabble pieces hand-beveled and finished to board game perfection.  Enjoy!  (Totally going to go play some Scrabble now…)

I know I am being lazy by not giving you any details on this device, but the video should be good enough.  Just click on over to youtube and read the info they provide if you are truly interested.  It would be great to have a voice box like this.  I could invite people over and just talk in my secret vocoder language all night.  My guests would be so alienated they would offer me money and then leave.

Buy Burnout Paradise

I don’t normally try to coerce people into buying games, but try to trust me on this one.  Burnout Paradise recently dropped to $19.99 for PS3 and 360.  If you haven’t played it yet there is no reason not to buy it.  I don’t generally like racing games, but for some reason I can’t get enough of this game.  The cars are relatively easy to control, and you can basically drive around Paradise City and do whatever you want.  As a bonus the soundtrack is relatively catchy, and there is a good variety of vehichles to unlock.  The best part about the game is that its always changing.  The developer recently added motor bikes to the game as a free update, and they plan on releasing several more this year (tiny toy trucks and paradise party pack to name a few).  If you still aren’t interested just download the demo and see for yourself, or check the games website for some more info.

Hello everyone!  I just obtained a new Logitech illuminated keyboard (see what I did there) and I am still trying to get used to it so I thought I would run it through a blog post.  I just wanted to let everyone know about a nifty little site called TestFreaks.  They collect review scores on all manor of gadgetry and then give it their own “freak score”.  It is a great place to go if you are looking for some good opinions on a particular device you are in the market for, or if you just want to see what is popular.  They are still in beta, but I haven’t had any problems with them thus far.  Just visit their site and let us know what you think.  For future reference I put their link in our blogroll for easy access.
